Good evening everyone,
I am so excited to bring you the second addition the the Emerald Rescue Trilogy! Anton and Tara were a lot of fun to write, and I hope you enjoy their story as much as I do.
Here is a little blip of what's to come:
When I got back to the house, Tara was sitting in the TV room staring off in to space. ’She’s upset.’ My bear grumbled. I came in and sat on the table in front of her. “What’s wrong?”
She looked at me. Her face was pink, her ears were red, and she looks like she is going to attack something or burst into tears.
“I spoke with Gemma today.” She raised her eyebrow.
“I called Leo, he said Gemma listened to his mom and things worked out.” ‘You did something.’ My bear accused. ‘Make our mate happy.’
‘I didn’t do anything. I was working on a fence all morning.’ I defended myself.
“Gemma told me they’re officially mate.” She crossed her arms over her chest.
“That’s great.” I smiled trying to understand why she would be upset about that.
She stood up and walked up the stairs. “I don’t understand why you’re upset about Gemma and Leo being fully mated.” I followed her.
“I’m not upset. I’m happy for them. I’m so happy for Gemma I kind of want to throw her a mini party.”
“Then why are you upset?” She rolled her eyes and turned to continue up the stairs.
“She told me the process.” She called over her shoulder.
“Your mad she had sex? I don’t understand why you would care. They’re mates, they’re meant to be to-“
“Exactly, they’re mates. Leo shouted it so loud that everyone with a pair of ears could hear.” She interrupted. “Leo knew they were meant to be together and did what it took-“ A tear rolled down her cheek, but she wiped it away quickly. “Leo used condoms with all the women that were not his mate.” She sniffled.
I have no idea what is happening. She’s mad they had sex without a condom even though they are mates? Why would she be mad. Mates are a gift from fate.
“He’s a shifter- “
“UGH!!” She yelled and turned back up the stairs.
“Will you stop and talk to me? I have no idea why you are so upset.” I followed her to the top of the steps, but she didn’t stop. I took her by the elbow, spun her so she was facing me, and picked her up pinning her against the wall. Her legs automatically wrapped around my waist like they always did when I picked her up. “Krasivaya roza, stop walking away from me.” I tried not to growl but I couldn’t help it.
“What are you going to do when your mate comes for you? I took someone’s mate, someone who deserves you.” She whispered as her eyes filled with tears.
It hit me, I never told her she was my mate. She thinks my mate is still out there. “We’ll never have to worry about that. I have my mate.”
“Only because we haven’t been using condoms.” She looked down
“No, that was me being too eager.” I wanted to laugh but it wasn’t the time. This silly woman, that I love so much is completely mistaken.
“You deserve your fated mate, not a chosen one.” She mumbled.
